beim diesem Traum-Herbst-Wetter musste ich natürlich wieder mal raus und habe dieses kleine Stück gefunden. Es ist aus Silber und ca. 2cm groß. Stempel oder Punzen sind keine erkennbar.

Hi,
könnte mir vorstellen das das mal ein Manchettenknopf war. Das Gegenstück scheint abgebrochen zu sein. Zum Alter habe ich aber keine Idee.

Hello!

It shows some similarity to shapes of medieval sword chapes and belt ends therefore on the base of this simiarity I would date it from XIII century to 2nd half of XV century. As examples I gave sword  chape from ca. XIII century (Pommern, Poland) and belt-end (fragm. of the painting by Bouts, Dieric the Elder 1464-67). Cheers!

But could you tell me on the base of what source your dating comes?Please don't feel insulted by my question, I don't doubt in your knowledge, that's the first time when I saw so precise dating of the belt mount.....maybe there is some typology that I'm not aware of...
