Gefunden Ich vermute, diese Art von Black Sun-Brosche auf dem Gelände des Aggersborg, Dänemarks größte Wikinger-Festung an diesem Wochenende.

interesting enough that this is the first time I've seen at least the fragment of a similar broche which I found a while back. All my efforts to get some reliable determinations for this find have failed as so far. The Viking origin I would exclude because of the location in the middle of Germany where this find was made. Anyway I'm continueing to investigate and if you are more successful please let me know. Here is the photograph:

Can you tell me where in Germany youve found the brooche ?
The brooch was found in North Rhine-Westphalia
Do you know what germanic tribes who where located there ?
I think maybe Saxons and Cherusks but it could be several, i guess !(mobilized against romans perhaps)
Your find... Is it at museum now ?
Presently the find is with the Archaeological Department for evaluation. The first unreliable guess is somewhere between 9. - 11. Century A.D.
I guess you are right ! (never mind the Romans, he he :ups: )
