hier ein Fund von Heute. Das Stück hat eine Länge von 26mm, Breite 14mm. Material scheint Bronze zu sein. Das Teil sieht mir schon ziemlich alt aus. Wer kann was zum Alter sagen und vielleicht den Verwendungszweck?

Thats is my first post on this forum so first I want to say hello to Everyone!
Looking at your item my first though was that this is some kind variation of "fleur-de-lis" belt mount (dating 1300-1400). Now I'm not so sure of this. Rather I think that this could be in fact belt bag edge mount, although there are some minor differences between your mount and those which I show here.
In the pictures you can see belt bag from Röstahammar (Sweden) (original and the reconstruction). This type of belt bags comes from Vikings import or adaptation from the eastern baltic tribes and is found in graves dated between X and XI century.
I found also unindentified mount posted by Störtebecker on 17th April 2006 that bear, in my opinion, a strong resemblance to that type of "viking" mounts:

I hope I'm not far from truth (or maybe?..) it has to be emphasized that your mount is a little bit different but at least comes from the middle ages and served as edge mount. Nevertheless, congratulations of this rare find!

Wie pawlor schon darauf hingewiesen hat könnte es sich um eine Applike einer Tasche aber sicher ein Lederbeschlag sein.

Eventuell auch ein Truhenbeschlag, bzw. von einem Kästchen ?
