Hello Stratocaster!
One mount, many options :-D :
a) 1436, Stefan Lochner, Germany
b) 1527, Poland (copperplate from book)
c) 1432, Jan van Eyck,The Netherlands
d) 1444, Pisanello, Italy
e) 1483, Sandro Boticelli, Italy
f) ca.1414, book cover, Germany
g) 1451, book cover, Germany
but with one exception, unexpectedly, all examples could be placed in XV century.
Cheers
Pawel

Many thanks :super:
The pictures are very impressive
I found similar mounts (or studs) at
http://www.ukdfd.co.uk/ukdfddata/showcat.php?cat=45&page=4
These studs are dated mainly in 17th century.
But I will follow your identification
Greetings :winke:

Aber Dein Beschlag ist trotzdem von Zorro :zwinker:
Der Buckel ist sehr flach; bei meinem Stück eher rundlich

Wide range of dating for such unspecific shape would be the most advisable.
Of note is that in the case of UKFDs stud they gave no references meaning that their dating is rather "rough" (based on monetary/known finds context or validator experience). Personally..... their (UKFDs) stud....

...looks massive and I would postulate the furniture as a most probable destination, in contrast, your stud looks less massive and thus fits better to "harness/cover/purse/belt" hypothesis.
As for summary, I tried to find anologies from XI to XIX century in a wide spectrum of groups of objects and above are the final results.
